The New iPhone Announced

iphone4
The new iPhone 4 has just been announced, and Apple have raised the bar... yet again. Not raising the bar for other consumer electronics firms of course - they have raised the bar for their own engineers and designers, and for consumers and business people that will turn to this new device in huge numbers.

It seems that this new device is not simply an upgrade with the addition of many ‘missing’ features requested by users. It is a new breed of device that is more than hone, and more than an iPhone. It is a handheld multimedia device that brings hand held general computing, communication and collaboration to a level not seen before. From the magnificent industrial design to the use of new breeds of glass and materials, this hand held wil appeal to more users before even being turned on. Lightweight, long battery life, unbelievable screen images, and a slew of ’ready to go’ multimedia applications will make this the most talked about ‘phone’ in history.

New iPhone 3G S

iPhone-3GS
News from Apple that the much anticipated new iPhone will be released in Australia on June 26.

Named the iPhone 3G S, Apple executives say that the ‘S’ is for ‘Speed’. Some industry pundits are not sure what it then means for future releases - “does this mean in 2011 we’ll have the iPhone 3G RFF ?” asked one insider who then needlessly spoke the obvious meaning of his future model type. However most realise that the new addition to the model name is merely a cool sounding letter in the vein of Porsche 911S.

In terms of specs, the new iPhone sports some long awaited new features:
  • 3 MP Camera
  • Hands Free voice control
  • New iPhone 3.0 Software
  • Video shooting & In Camera Editing
  • Compass (in the phone, not the heel of your Bata Scout)
  • Open GL based Graphics (sharper graphics)
  • Cut, copy and paste functions
  • other stuff

Obviously a lot of the new features have come as a result of user feedback (outcry) following the release of the iPhone 3G, whilst some new features are quite impressive.
