Great news from Skype - the company has just announced that it will soon be releasing full Skype call functionality for the iPhone. At this stage it is not clear if Skype calling will be blocked from Australian networks. We would guess that 3 and Vodafone would allow full Skype usage as per their overseas policies; Optus should follow suit. Telstra would be the only carrier to possibly block the call function - this would be in keeping with the fairly closed attitude to mobile plans and general pricing . We would like to be wrong and see Telstra embrace full Skype functionality on the Phone.
